Stage 1 Menton - Roquebilliere:  66 km / 2000 vm
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Col de Castillon, Col de Turini to Lance

After a 13 hours road trip  we'll arrive  in the morning in Menton (France) at the Mediterranean beach. Even though many of us won't have much sleep during the night we will not really have an easy ride. Because most of us will be without sleep we have to do the short-route from Menton straight over Col de Castillon, but I am a bit sorry about that. We will miss a lot of beauty and legend. From Menton also starts the famous col de la Madone, the trainingscol of Lance Armstrong. After the Madone we have to do the col the Braus as well, bringing us the first beautiful hairpins.

This hypothetical stage would be 100 km and 3000 elevation meters, which is just to touch after a night without sleep. That would blow up the whole group: definitely the slow starters. The col de Turini is more known for hosting a stage in the Rally of Monte Carlo, and see below how much the guys of TopGear enjoy the Turini. Due to all the hairpins the Turini is mentioned in almost all list for most beautiful roads to drive. Let's see if we can enjoy it!

Stage one finishes in Roquebilliere an ancient Templar village. The question who's going to shine on the first climbs of the first days will be food for half a year of speculation and disguise.
